When your transmission needs a full overhaul, every component is carefully inspected, measured and rebuilt to manufacturer specification using premium replacement parts - so what leaves our bench is as dependable as the day it was new.
What a complete rebuild means
A rebuild is not a quick reseal. The transmission comes out, is completely stripped, and every part is cleaned and examined. Worn and failed components are replaced, machined surfaces are measured against specification, and the unit is reassembled to the manufacturer's tolerances and clearances. It is meticulous work, and it is exactly the work a transmission specialist exists to do.
Our rebuild process
- Removal and teardown. The unit is removed and fully dismantled so nothing is judged by guesswork.
- Inspection and measurement. Every component is inspected, and critical parts are measured, so wear is found rather than assumed.
- Premium parts. Clutches, seals, bearings, gaskets and hard parts are replaced with quality components chosen to last.
- Rebuild to specification. Reassembled to manufacturer specification, with the valve body and torque converter addressed as part of the job.
- Test and quality assurance. Set up, filled with the correct fluid, and road tested before it goes back to you.
When a rebuild is the right call
If a diagnosis finds widespread internal wear, overheating damage or contamination through the unit, a targeted repair only treats part of the problem. A complete rebuild resets the whole transmission and is usually the better value over the life of the vehicle - especially for a 4WD, a European vehicle, a commercial unit or a classic worth keeping on the road. Every rebuild is backed by our warranty, and we will give you honest advice on whether it is the right decision before you commit to it.

When a used transmission makes more sense
A rebuild is not the only way forward, and we would rather say so than sell you one you do not need. On an older vehicle, or one where the cost of an overhaul is hard to justify against what the car is worth, a sound used transmission can be the sensible choice - lower up front, and often quicker.
